Yesterday, AATB representatives and members had the incredible opportunity to visit Capitol Hill, to advocate for key issues impacting the tissue banking community.
During our meetings with congressional leaders and their staff, we addressed critical topics, including:
- Concerns regarding the FDA’s final guidance on sepsis and Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) and its impact on tissue banking.
- The importance of skin substitute products and their role in patient care.
- Support for the Shandra Eisenga Human Cell and Tissue Product Safety Act and the HCT/P Modernization Act of 2025, both of which aim to enhance safety and innovation in the field.
We are deeply grateful to our members who participated, sharing their expertise and passion to help shape policies that will support and protect tissue donation and transplantation. A special thank you to the lawmakers and staff who took the time to meet with us—we look forward to continuing these vital conversations and strengthening AATB’s role as a trusted resource in healthcare policy.
