AATB Releases Tax Status Statement

The AATB Board of Governors released the below tax status statement in support of their members.

The American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB) believes all donated tissue should be collected and processed at an AATB accredited establishment demonstrating compliance with the AATB Standards. AATB is proud to have a diverse membership that includes both for-profit and not-for-profit entities that are committed to ensuring that safe and high-quality tissue products are available for patients, advancing medical science, and innovating for the future. All AATB accredited institutional members adhere to existing federal laws prohibiting the sale or purchase of organs, eyes, or tissues regardless of federal tax status.
